The Trench Coat Look

A trench coat is a coat made of waterproof and heavy-duty fabric. The trench coat was typically worn as a windbreaker or as a rain jacket, and not for the sole protection to protect you from the cold during the winter season. Some trench coats may feature a removable wool liner for additional warmth, but they are usually not as warm as an overcoat. You can wear a trench coat all year long as long as you layer appropriately underneath to avoid becoming too hot or cold. Work trench coats in neutral colors such as black, grey, beige, or khaki are easy to match with your work clothes.

A classic trench coat is made from gabardine which is a cotton twill so densely woven it is waterproof. Garbardine can sometimes be made of wool, or a cotton-wool blend. Trench coats are usually worn when it is rainy day. But nowadays a trench coat is worn more of a fashion statement and not just when it rains outside. With trench coats you have a variety of colors and styles to choose from. But most are double breasted with a belt and come down past your knee and are sometimes even maxi length. Trench coats can be very chic and can make a fashion statement all on its own. So you can wear a plain white t-shirt and jeans and then throw on a trench coat, with sunglasses and a cute handbag and heels or trainers/sneakers and it can look amazing.

You may already have a trench coat in your wardrobe from last season or previous seasons. So you don't need to go out and buy a whole bunch of trench coats. You can pull out your previous season trench coats and just re-wear and re-style them with the current pieces you have in your wardrobe. But if you don't have any trench coats in your wardrobe below are some trench coats worth checking out.
