An emerging market economy describes a nation's economy that is progressing toward becoming more advanced, usually by means of rapid growth and industrialization. These countries experience an expanding role both in the world economy and on the political frontier. Numerous emerging market economies become important bases for global manufacturing operations. Emerging markets have attracted considerable attention from investors due to their rising shares of global economic output and stock market capitalization. As emerging markets get more global presence, they also benefit from regulatory reforms, cross-border trade, and loose monetary policy. With emerging markets their stocks can be volatile so they carry a much higher risk. Even though emerging markets have a higher risk the potential for rapid economic growth in emerging countries means a higher return potential. Less developed nations throughout Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America are said to be emerging market economies. Emerging markets have many pros and cons. One of the pros is that when you invest in emerging markets it helps to diversify your portfolio. Another pro is that emerging markets have a tendency to have lower debt burdens than developed countries. A con to emerging market is the risk of inflation, the risk that exchange rates will move in an adverse direction and that political changes could negatively affect investment returns. This is just some information on emerging markets.
