Tesla safety exec leaves to join Waymo, following another engineer’s ‘sabbatical’

The company’s lead engineer responsible for overseeing vehicle development has decided to take a leave of absence. As per the Wall Street Journal, Doug Field, Tesla’s senior vice president of engineering, will be taking a break for “several weeks.” One individual called the departure a “six-week sabbatical,” and Tesla has not confirmed when Field will return.
