Suede is a type of leather known for its soft, velvety, napped surface, made from the underside of an animal hide, such as sheep, cow, or crocodile. Suede differs from traditional leather, which is made from the grain side of the hide, and has a distinct fuzzy texture created by mechanically sanding the leather's inner layers.
The thing with suede is that it can get a bit expensive. Suede is expensive due to the process of how it is created. Also it's limited availability and the high quality of suede makes buying suede more expensive. Suede is a very delicate piece of fabric. Suede is delicate due to its porous surface which makes it susceptible to staining, water damage, scratching, and wear, unlike smoother, more durable types of leather. While suede offers a soft, luxurious feel, it requires careful cleaning and maintenance and is best when kept away from water and rough conditions to remain in good condition.
Since suede can be very expensive some people turn to faux suede which can be a bit more affordable. Nowadays you can find faux suede at high street shops like H&M, Zara and Mango and other similar shops. If you want to spend a bit more you can check out some contemporary boutiques and high end boutiques. Suede is one of those looks that's very popular during the fall and winter season.
