Linen is a strong, durable, and breathable fabric made from the fibers of the flax plant. It is highly absorbent and known for being "wrinkly looking" and is commonly used in apparel and household items like bedding, tablecloths, and towels. Linen is liked by a lot of people because it is known for being hypoallergenic, sustainable, and lightweight. Linen is a natural fabric that helps with limiting sweating. Linen allows the skin to breathe and it helps to maintain a feeling of dryness.
Linen is a very trendy look every late spring season and then the look is usually always transitioned into summer season. During the summer months in NYC it can get extremely hot and very very humid and linen is definitely a perfect look for those kind of days. The thing with linen is that it tends to wrinkle a lot even though you steam it or iron it, it still tends to wrinkle on it's own. Another downside to linen is that it can be very see-through if not lined or sometimes even if lined it can still be see-through. But even with linen wrinkling a lot and it being see-through it is still the best option during the summer months.
You might have a linen piece or linen pieces already in your wardrobe so there is no need to go out and buy a whole new set of linen pieces.
