Shearling is the skin and wool of a young sheep (lamb) that has been tanned and processed with the wool left intact, creating a luxurious, warm, and durable material with a suede exterior and a soft fleece interior, used widely in winter jackets, boots, and accessories for its natural insulation and breathability. It's a natural byproduct of the meat industry, but some advocate against it due to animal welfare concerns, and it differs from sheepskin (wool removed) or faux shearling (synthetic).

Shearling is one of those pieces that is always very popular during the winter season. One of the reasons that shearling is very popular during the winter season is due to it's water-repellent properties that it has. Another great thing about shearling is that the inside of a lot of shealring and faux shearling coats and jackets are usually lined with wool fleece. One of the biggest pros when it comes to shearling and faux-shearling is that it is very warm.

When shopping for shearling you'll notice that the prices are very high. Shealring can be quite expensive so because of this reason more people will lean more towards faux-shearling. The thing is faux-shearling can also be a bit pricey. But you can find some reasonably priced faux-shearling pieces out there on the market.

If you don't have a winter coat or jacket or winter accessories then you've come to the right place. Below are some faux-shearling and shearling coats and jackets and other shearling pieces worth checking out. To learn more about the faux-shearling and shearling pieces below you can click on each link below each picture which will take you to the retailer selling the look.
