The Cape/Cloak Look

In fashion, a cape is a sleeveless outer garment that fastens at the neck or shoulders and drapes loosely over the back and arms. A cape is often for fashion or warmth. Unlike a cloak, a cape is generally shorter, ending around the waist or hip, though the terms are sometimes used interchangeably. A cloak in fashion is typically longer, designed for warmth and protection from the elements, and often includes a hood and the ability to close fully across the front.

Both a cape and a cloak are great outer garments for the fall and early winter season. Both looks can be dressed in anyway that you'd like. You can dress a cape or a cloak up with heels and a maxi skirt and turtleneck underneath. Or you can dress a cape and a cloak down with sneakers/trainers and jeans. On days that you don't really have anything to wear you can wear a white, ecru or black turtleneck with trousers or jeans and trainers or shoe boots or any other footwear. The great thing with capes and cloaks is that both are great on days when you don't really have anything to wear.

You may or may not be a cape or cloak person and that is okay. But if you don't have any capes or cloaks and want to try the look then you've come to the right place. Below are some cape and cloak looks worth checking out. To learn more about each cape and cloak look below you can click on each link below each picture which will take you to the retailer selling the look.
