Shearling & Faux Shearling Coats & Jackets Worth Trying Out During The Winter Season

A shearling coat or jacket is a great piece of clothing to have in the winter as the days and nights get colder. But due to the high price tag of shearling it is not something that everyone can afford to purchase. So then there is an option for faux shearling which is less costly. The thing with faux shearling or faux anything is that it can look and feel cheap.

When wearing shearling you need to be careful of the weather. You don't want to wear shearling in the rain or snow if possible. But if you do happen to get caught in the rain or snow storm it will dry easily once you get indoors and at room temperature. You also need to be mindful of how you store your shearling coat or jacket. Another thing with shearling is you might not want to wash it yourself in let's say a washing machine. There are shearling and fur specialists that you can take your shearling coat or jacket to.

The bad thing about shearling, fur, suede, cashmere and similar fabrics is that an animal has to die in order for the item to be made. But the use of these fabrics go way back to prehistoric times when man really needed these fabrics as part of their survival when the temperatures got really low (below freezing) during the winter months. Some could argue that winters now can get really cold in places like Minneapolis , Chicago, Alaska and many other places so people in these areas might need to wear fur and shearling to stay extra warm. Others might argue that there are other alternatives regardless of where you live and the temperature. So the alternative is that people will turn to wearing faux shearling or faux fur. But faux anything is bad for our environment because faux anything is plastic and non-biodegradable and can sometimes still contain animal products.

But I wanted to do this post to give people an option. You can choose to not buy shearling or faux shearling if you are against animal cruelty and saving our planet. Or you might want to buy it for now for the winter until you find a better alternative to help keep you warm during the winter months. There are those who love shearling but can't afford it so will turn to faux shearling since it is a bit more affordable. So this post is for those who are looking to invest in shearling and faux shearling pieces. Below are some shearling and faux shearling coats and jackets.
