Its that time of year when layers are required along with Parkas and down jackets/coats. In the northern hemisphere the winter season is right around the corner. Winter season will begin on Saturday December 21, 2024 - until Thursday March 20, 2025. The winters in NYC can get very frigid and really cold. In NYC when the temperature gets to 20 degrees and under it doesn't matter how many layers you wear in NYC you are still freezing cold.

In NYC the coldest months are usually January, February and March. So during these months you will definitely need to layer up and have the Heattech and or thermals ready on hand. You'll also need a nice and warm Parka and or down coat/jacket. The goal during the winter months especially the really colder months of January, February and March is to stay very cozy and warm.

You can still be stylish and chic when it's freezing cold outside. So your outwear makes a big difference because that is all that will be seen during the colder months. Not everyone cares about fashion and looking chic and stylish. The most important thing is keeping warm and not shivering or being cold while outside in the freezing temperatures.
