The PVC & Translucent Look

The PVC and the translucent look is a trend that came around several seasons ago. Then the trend kind of sort of went away. But now the PVC and translucent trend is back. You're probably wondering what is the PVC and translucent trend all about. Well to answer your question it is pretty much any shoe, bag or hat or belt or anything else that you can wear that is see-through and a lot of times made of rubber.

Not sure if you remember but back in the day there was a huge PVC and translucent trend that dominated for years. The trend that I am referring to is the jelly sandal. This was a big trend in the 80s, then the 90s. Then the jelly trend re-emerged in the early 2000s briefly and then it went away.

The PVC and the translucent look is similar to the jelly sandal look. The only difference is with some jelly sandals they may come completely covered in glitter. The PVC and translucent look can be great when wearing belts that are PVC or translucent. Even the PVC and translucent handbags look amazing and are easier when you have a lot of products and are trying to find them in your big bag. Or when your keys fall to the bottom of your bag. With a PVC or translucent bag finding keys or any other items lost in your bag can make it easier. Also with PVC or a translucent bag you can layer by putting another bag inside the PVC or translucent bag if you don't want the whole world seeing your toiletries or other products/items in your bag.

PVC or translucent footwear is another story especially when worn during a really hot and humid summer day. Your feet will sweat and it could probably show when wearing a high heel PVC or translucent shoe. So during the summer the PVC and translucent shoe look is not something you can wear on a daily basis. But if you like the look then go for it.

If you've never tried the jelly sandal then you've come to the right place. Below are some PVC/translucent looks to get you started and give you an idea of what the trend looks like.
