Once Fall/Autumn begins that means that winter will soon be here. But before we even get to winter it will be time to start planning for the holidays. In the USA Thanksgiving is Thursday November 22, 2018 and then winter begins Friday December 21, 2018 in the Northern Hemisphere. Then Christmas follows a few days after winter begins on Tuesday December 25, 2018.

As you're are making arrangements for where to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas you might also be planning to have or attend some parties on either or both holiday occasions. Lots of people spend the holidays with families. Holiday celebrations can last from Thanksgiving (end of November) to Christmas (which is the end of December) all the way until the new year.
