Israeli high court suspends deportation of US student accused of boycott support

The Guardian --------- An American student who was barred from Israel under a law against pro-Palestinian boycotters filed an appeal on Sunday with the country’s supreme court, which suspended her deportation pending a discussion of the case.

Lara Alqasem, 22, flew to Israel on 2 October, on a study visa. She was refused entry by security officials who cited her role as president of a small local chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Florida. To learn more click on the picture below to read the article.
