Italy declares state of emergency over bridge collapse

Politico ----------- Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte declared a 12-month state of emergency in the Liguria region Wednesday over the collapse of a bridge in Genoa Tuesday that killed more than 30 people. The government also agreed to allocate an initial €5 million toward emergency operations in the area, including to assist displaced families and to clear rubble.
