China-based espionage campaign targets satellite, defense companies
CNET -------- A group of hackers traced to China are waging a sophisticated cyber espionage campaign against satellite operators, telecommunication companies and defense contractors in the US and Southeast Asia, a security researcher said Tuesday. Symantec said it's been monitoring a hacking group it's dubbed "Thrip" since 2013, but in January detected "powerful malware" in Southeast Asia the company believes was used to spy on infected computers.
