SpaceX’s last Falcon 9 upgrade could finally make reusable rockets cost-effective

The Verge -------- Tomorrow, SpaceX will conduct a routine satellite launch from Florida, but it’s not using an ordinary rocket. The mission will mark the debut of the Block 5 version of the company’s Falcon 9, the most advanced upgrade of the rocket to date and the last major version of the vehicle that SpaceX plans to make. Block 5 is designed to improve the Falcon 9’s reusability, and that’s something SpaceX really needs if it wants to turn many of its expensive, long-term plans into reality.
