Trench coat Looks
The Trench coat was originally created for soldiers during the World War. It is a type of raincoat with very deep pockets and a wide belt. The trench coat was made to be lightweight and waterproof. Trench coats are generally double breasted and there is usually always a belt that goes around the waist that can either be tied up or you can use the loops on the trench and put the belt through that. It typically has a buttoned strap on the shoulders but not always. Sometimes there is a buttoned flap on the back of the trench. There is usually always a belted loop around the wrist.
Although the trench coat was originally created for men in the military today it is also widely worn by women and it is a very popular staple in a woman's wardrobe.
One of the very biggest and most popular designers of trench coats was Thomas Burberry the founder of the clothing company Burberry which is well known for its iconic check design on the inside of it's jackets and coats. But Burberry is also well known for it's trench coats.
