FCC Chairman Wants to Keep Planes Call-Free

Bloomberg -------- A top federal regulator proposed to keep the ban on cell phone calls on airliners, suspending a rulemaking that drew scornful comments from thousand of passengers aghast at sharing space with chattering seatmates. U.S. Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai on Monday asked his fellow commissioners to join him in terminating the proceeding begun in 2013. One of the other three commissioners had previously voted with Pai against allowing calls, suggesting the measure will pass and end a debate that’s simmered for years.
