One of the things I am very big on is looking for deals and coupons. I can't tell you how much this helps especially during the holidays when things can get really hectic and everything seems to sell out pretty fast. If you happen to book late then you may want to fly on the actual holiday because you'll notice a drop in the flight cost. Another way to save money on holiday travel is by being flexible I know that is a tough one because it seems like everyone wants to fly around the same time and it doesn't always work out that way. So it's important to be flexible with the dates and have backup dates in mind just in case. Also if traveling during Christmas you might not want to travel with gifts, it might be better to ship the gifts directly to the destination to save money instead of packing it in your suitcase.
