Before I purchase an item I tend to go online and research then read the customer reviews and if the product gets 4 or 5 stars then I'm sold on the product. It is also common for people to read reviews on companies when they are looking for employment opportunities and business opportunities. But is it really true that getting a 4 and 5 star means that they are the best. How do you really. Let me start off by saying that what works for one person doesn't always work for someone else. Everyone is different and our bodies react to products differently so you won't really know all the time. The same thing when applying for a job everyone has a different experience while on the job so just because someone has a bad experience at a company doesn't mean you will have a bad experience and vice versa. With online reviews you can also get a lot of fake reviews, so it's important not to obsess over them and not take everything so literal. Online reviews can be a great resource because you get feedback from everyday people but you can't always believe everything you read.
