Shutdown chokes nonprofit support for parks and wildlife refuges
Politico ---------- People are continuing to visit national parks, forests and wildlife refuges despite a federal government shutdown, but they're not buying T-shirts and souvenirs because gift stores are closed. That’s cost the nonprofits that run those shops more than $2 million in revenue from lost sales and visitor programs, according to a survey from the Public Lands Alliance.
