House approves $7.85 billion in Harvey relief, Trump sides with Democrats over length of debt limit
The Washington Post -------- President Trump wants Congress to pass a three-month government spending bill and raise the debt ceiling for the same amount of time, siding with Democrats and putting Republican leaders in an awkward position. Trump made his position clear at a White House meeting with congressional leaders on Wednesday. The White House’s position was confirmed in a statement from Senate Minority Leader Charles E.
